As well as being a Cambridge International School, NIS is licensed by the Ministry of Education in Malaysia, and holds a 4-Star rating from the Private and International Schools’ Inspectorate. NIS is a centre for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, and will shortly be awarded Eco-School Status under the World-Wide Fund for Nature’s programme, which contextualizes the learning of our students within the framework of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. NIS is working towards accreditation in 2020 by COBIS, the Council of British International Schools, and by the Boarding Schools’ Association.
NIS students travel to global competitions such as the World Scholars' Cup, and compete online with the best students around the world through the Mathletics and Literacy Planet websites.
In 2019, we gained membership of the organisation which guarantees the quality of British Boarding School education - the Boarding School's Association.
In 2020, we will complete the process of full international accreditation by becoming members of COBIS, the Council of British International Schools, and we look forward to becoming members of this excellent organisation.
NIS is also proud of its character-building, community service and charity work. These are symbolised by our part in the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Scheme, which has linked thousands of young people in hundreds of countries across the past 60 years in global citizenship and leadership training.
NIS is committed to educating tomorrow's responsible citizens and leaders, who will deliver the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for the future of our planet.
In 2019 we became an Eco-School, and in 2020 after nearly two years of developing our ecological & environmental education, we expect to achieve the Silver Award.
Nilai International School is proud to be an accredited member of the international educational community, working towards a better tomorrow, and encouraging each student here at NIS to Let Their Light Shine.
